Master of Arts in Latin American Literature and Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing (University of Iowa) and Completed studies in PhD Program of Latin American Literature (UNAM). Founder and director of Maga magazine; creator of the Diploma in Creative Writing (UTP); and founder of 9 Signos Grupo Editorial.
In 2005, he won the Ricardo Miró National Literature Competition as a storyteller, and in 2009, the seventy-second version of the Hispanic Floral Games of Quetzaltenango, Guatemala; as well as the Charles Phelps Taft scholarship as a visiting writer (University of Cincinnati). Eight books have been published as studies on his writing. He has been included in 30 anthologies of Hispanic stories.
